Parish School of Religion

Welcome to the St. Joseph Parish School of Religion

“You will be the first teachers of your child in the ways of the faith. May you also be the best of teachers, bearing witness to the faith by what you say and do in Christ Jesus the Lord.”  – Rite of Baptism

PSR Mission Statement: St. Joseph Parish  School of Religion is a Catholic religious education program for public school students in grades kindergarten through eight, that assists parents in teaching the Catholic faith and in helping to create a loving relationship with God.

Our program partners with parents in strengthening Catholic identity through regular religious instruction and participation in the Catholic community of faith. The curriculum is designed to spiral from one year to the next with the Sacraments of Reconciliation and Eucharist celebrated in the second grade and a Confirmation preparation beginning in eighth grade.

St. Joseph PSR Goals

  1. To assist parents in their primary roles as educators of their children.
  2. To enable students to develop a vital, personal relationship with God.
  3. To present Jesus Christ as the center focus in the Christian message.
  4. To teach Roman Catholic Doctrine and the varied traditions of the Church.
  5. To provide opportunities for service within the family, the faith community and society.
